Oregon Senate Republicans and Oregon House Republicans have staged another walkout to deny quorum in the Oregon Legislature. Despite supermajority support in both chambers, important climate legislation cannot be passed without the two-thirds quorum necessary to conduct business. In walking out, a small minority of legislators have silenced the political will of the majority of Oregonians. United Academics of Oregon State University (UAOSU), OSU’s faculty union, has been bargaining for a fair contract since November of 2018. OSU faculty formed a union in order to find solutions to the challenges they face as teachers and researchers, as well as those of the students and communities they serve.
