We recently released our mission statement poster—where more than 1,000 of our colleagues publicly declared their commitment to building our union and a better OSU. We are now collecting signatures on union authorization cards to demonstrate majority support for our union and finally gain legal recognition. We gain momentum each day, as we talk with colleagues in their offices, labs, homes, research centers, and extension offices across the state. We are also beginning to look forward to our work after recognition. Members of our sister unions have visited for Q&A sessions with UAOSU activists to shed light on best practices…

The Oregon Legislature’s “short” session wrapped up on Saturday, March 3. The 27-day session included a few important victories for higher education and the defeat of some bills that would have negatively impacted faculty and other workers.
