Every election, we have the opportunity to shape the future of our state and our nation. We need to elect legislators we can count on to support education, labor rights, and working families, and this November’s election is our chance to do just that.

Based upon a review of candidates’ questionnaire responses, the AAUP Oregon Legislative Committee, in conjunction with the AAUP Oregon Executive Committee and the leadership of each collective bargaining chapter, endorses the following legislators and ballot measure.

Key Endorsements

If at all possible, donate your time, talents, and resources to help secure these important seats:

Don’t forget that Oregon residents have access to a political tax credit, meaning that you can donate up to $50 individually (or $100 jointly) and receive the full amount as a credit on your next tax return.

Canvass or Phonebank with the Oregon AFL-CIO

Thanks to the national affiliation of the AAUP and AFT, our union now falls under the umbrella of the AFL-CIO. The Oregon AFL-CIO is organizing phone banking and canvassing events to support the campaigns of pro-labor candidates. Use this form to sign up for any of these events.

Ballot Measures

This year, we encourage our members to vote yes on Measure 117 because we believe ranked choice voting will ensure that Oregonians can vote for the candidates they truly support, not just the candidate they dislike the least. If you want more information about Measure 117, check out Yes on 117 and consider donating to their PAC.
